THE DIOCESE OF LAGOS WEST CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION) CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY WITH MEDICAL DONATION TO PATIENTS IN LASUTH

As Part Of Its Silver Jubilee Celebrations, The Diocese Of Lagos West, Church Of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Expressed Its Commitment To Social Responsibility By Donating Medical Supplies To The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). The Event Took Place On Tuesday, November 19, 2024.

Dr. Olutoyin Okeowo, Chairman Of The Anniversary Committee, Emphasized The Diocese's Dedication To Contributing To The Healthcare System Under The Leadership Of The Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Dr. James Olusola Odedeji.

He Noted That The Decision To Support LASUTH Stemmed From The Longstanding Relationship Between The Hospital And The Diocese, As Well As Providing Succor To Patients In The Emergency Wing Of The Hospital To Ease Their Financial Burden While Accessing Healthcare.

Dr. Okeolu Also Expressed Gratitude To The Leadership Of The Hospital For Accommodating The St. Luke Chapel On Its Premises As A Way Of Strengthening The Bond Between The Church And The Hospital.

The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, Warmly Welcomed The Diocesan Delegation Alongside Members Of The Hospital's Top Management Committee. He Conveyed Heartfelt Appreciation To The Diocese On Behalf Of LASUTH, The Commissioner For Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, And The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

The CMD Shared That LASUTH's Commitment To Delivering World-class Healthcare Is Made Possible By The Lagos State Government�s Significant Investments In Personnel, Equipment, And Infrastructure.

He Praised Governor Sanwo-Olu For His Continued Support As He Cited Ongoing Projects Such As The Oncology Center For Pediatric Cancer Patients, Funded By The Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG), And The Eye Hospital Extension, Supported By An Anonymous Donor. He Also Acknowledged Contributions From Organizations Like The Rotary Club Of Ikeja, Which Donated The Caregivers Quarters For Relatives Of Patients.

The CMD Proudly Shared The Hospital's Milestones In Conducting Regular Open-heart Surgeries And Kidney Transplants, Reaffirming LASUTH�s Role In Advancing Healthcare In Lagos State. He Assured The Diocesan Representatives That The Donated Items Would Directly Benefit Patients, Emphasizing That LASUTH Provides Free Emergency Services To Patients During The First 24 Hours Of Care.

He Further Encouraged The Diocese To Raise Awareness About The Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme As A Way To Cushion The High Cost Of Healthcare And LASUTH�s Role As A Participating Healthcare Provider.

The Donated Items Include 100 Sets Of Bed Sheets And Pillowcases, 50 Surgical Gowns, 40 Pairs Of Theater Shoes, 75 Cartons Each Of IVF Normal Saline And IVF 5% Dextrose Normal Saline, 5 Cartons Of 10mL Syringes And Needles, 2 Cartons Each Of 5mL And 2mL Syringes�and�needles
