ROTARY CLUB OF IKEJA PAYS ANNUAL VISIT TO LASUTH

25th December 2023, Marked The 53rd Edition Of The Annual Christmas Visit To The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) By The Rotary Club Of Ikeja.

While Giving A Nostalgic History Of The Annual Visit, Past District Governor, Rot. Juli Adelusi-Adeluyi, Reminisced On How The Tradition Began When The Hospital Was Still A Cottage And How The Tradition Had Evolved Over The Years. He Expressed His Gratitude To The Past Leadership Of The Hospital For Giving The Club A Chance To Continue To Lend A Giving Hand. He Also Hoped That Members Of Ikeja Rotary Club Will Keep Up With The Spirit Of The Essence Of The Tradition.

Speaking In The Same Vein, The Current President Of The Club, Rot. Emeka Ibe Reminded All Present That The Tenets Of The Rotary Club Which Is To Give Time, Treasure And Talent To The Needy And Society At Large Is One Of The Major Reasons For The Gathering.

In His Response, The Chief Medical Director Of LASUTH, Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, On Behalf Of The Hospital Management, Appreciated The Members Of Club For The Continuous Support To The Hospital. He Informed All Present About Some Of The Infrastructural Development That Had Taken Place In The Hospital, During The Course Of The Year. He Attributed Some Of These Growths To Existing Partnership Between Some Organizations And The Hospital.

He Also Used The Opportunity To Appreciate All The Members Of Staff For Their Commitment And Dedication To Work And He Prayed For Divine Favour And Protection For All The Members Of The Club.

During The Visit To The Hospital Wards To Assess Cleanliness, Ward Organization And Christmas Decoration, The BT Peadiatrics Ward Got The Third Position While Female Surgical Ward Came In Second. For The First Position, Ayinke House, Female Medical Ward, Male Surgical Ward And Medical Emergency Tied.

Some Members Of Staff Were Also Recognised For Their Outstanding Performances In 2023. They Are; Outstanding Doctor, Dr. Ogunniran Oludayo, Principal Medical Officer; Outstanding Nurse, Abatan Oluwakemi Funmilayo; Most Valuable Staff Of The Year, Ogunmuyiwa Sunday Adebayo, Hospital Secretary; Most Punctual Staff, Anibaba Deborah Olayinka; Assistant Chief Dietitian; Outstanding Junior Staff, Adebayo Comfort Oluwatemilorun, Health Attendant And Outstanding Senior Staff, Dawodu Muslimat Olarewaju, Assistant Chief Welfare Officer.

Donated To The Hospital Were Equipment Such As Drip Stands, Blood Pressure Monitors, Bedsheets. The Event Which Had A Good Touch Of Camaraderie Had Some Carol Singing Sessions In Which Everyone Participated.
