The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Has Commenced Postgraduate Diploma In Clinical Ultrasonography (PGDCUS), Following Approval From The National Postgraduate Medical College Of Nigeria (NPMCN).
The Programme Is Designed To Train And Produce Competent And Compassionate Middle-level Manpower In Clinical Ultrasonography Through Structured Training, Skills Development, And Research.
This Initiative Is Expected To Significantly Improve Access To Quality, Reliable, And Timely Sonographic Services Across Lagos State And Nigeria, While Ensuring Practitioners Operate Within Clearly Defined Professional Limits.
The Two-year Programme Offers A Comprehensive Blend Of Theoretical Knowledge And Practical Training For Licensed Medical Practitioners. It Is Structured To Equip Participants With The Competence To Perform And Interpret Basic Ultrasound Examinations, As Well As Produce Accurate, Standardised, And Clinically Relevant Reports That Support Effective Diagnosis And Patient Management.
Training Will Involve Supervised Clinical Exposure, Hands-on Skill Acquisition, And Continuous Assessment To Ensure High Standards Of Practice. At The End Of The Programme, Successful Candidates Will Be Awarded The Postgraduate Diploma In Clinical Ultrasonography (PGDCUS).
